Rita Segato reminds us that there can’t be true peace if there’s no gender peace, that is to say, not while there is still violence against women, which far from being eradicated has intensified and taken new forms [1]. In Peace Education terms, from Rita Segato’s perspective, the challenge is to dismantle a pedagogy of cruelty; this can be linked to Irene Comins’ interest in feminizing culture through a pedagogy of care [2]. The objective of this paper is to introduce two educative experiences carried out at Tecnologico de Monterrey whose aims was to contribute to peace building through reflecting on gender violence and, also, the importance of regaining other faculties for peace. Both approaches attempted for the students to become a sort of Peace Journalists, and through writing chronicles or taking photographs, they would find the crossroads of Peace and Gender Studies. The first one involved High School students enrolled in the class “Challenges for Current Mexico”; after explaining to them topics relating to gender inequality, they had to ride on city’s public transport and observe and reflect on these inequalities. The second educative experience was carried out with students enrolled in the class “Ethics, Person, and Society”; after identifying the problematics on the different implications the concept of caring carries, they were asked to photograph examples where each one of these implications could be identified.
